Working in partnership with you to achieve your goals

Together we can flip your current situation

I start by taking the time to listen and develop an understanding of your situation and the impact it is having on your life and from there we will establish realistic, functional and meaningful goals. You will leave each appointment with a FLIP - a Functional Life Improvement Plan developed with you, for you and we will measure your progress with evidence-based outcome measurement tools specific to your condition to demonstrate meaningful change.

There are many effective treatments that can help restore function, alleviate pain and improve quality of life

Specialising in…

  • Pelvic floor dysfunction can include bladder and bowel urgency and leakage, pelvic organ prolapse and sexual dysfunction. By assessing the pelvic floor, identifying the underlying causes of dysfunction and prescribing an individualised rehabilitation program I can work with you to regain control, alleviate discomfort and restore confidence in your body. You may be offered an internal pelvic floor examination if this is something you feel comfortable with, not everyone does and if this is the case I will discuss alternative assessment options.

  • Pelvic pain can be a distressing issue for teenagers, impacting their daily life and overall well-being, this can also be a massive cause of stress for families when teneagers are unable to attend school, sport and work due to pain.

I have particular interest and experience in treating teenagers and children with pelvic pain and appreciate that there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach to this group. I use a combination of education, treatment techniques and activity planning to develop a program that meets the young person’s individual needs. This commences with individualised pain education, body awareness training, pelvic floor and abdominal relaxation techniques, bladder and bowel training and breath work to address and reduce symptoms. In the planning stages we develop plans for a staged return to activity, including resuming normal school, social, sport and other activities.

  • Complex and persistent pelvic pain in adults can vary widely between individuals, I have seen hundreds of patients with persistent pelvic pain but never two the same. It is for this reason that at the first appointment I will carefully listen to your story and work with you to identify the physiotherapy goals that are meaningful and relevant to you. We will work as a partnership to create a personalised program and use validated measures to demonstrate progress.

  • I have completed specific training in pelvic floor physiotherapy, and worked in public and private women’s health physiotherapy for many years.

I have many years experience in the treatment of sexual pain and know that pain that affects your sex life can be extremely distressing and difficult to talk about. In the treatment of sexual pain and dysfunction I provide a sensitive and holistic approach.

Following a comprehensive assessment, treatments are personalised to achieve maximum benefit. I am familiar with the intersection of physiotherapy and other health disciplines and can facilitate a multidisciplinary approach if required. Pelvic floor dysfunction often plays a role in sexual dysfunction such as vaginismus, vulvodynia, and dyspareunia and this is why pelvic floor physiotherapy can play an important role in rehabilitation.

  • Before turning my focus to pelvic health physiotherapy I practised for many years as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist and continue to do so.

I can treat necks, shoulders, hands, hips, knees and ankles as well as the pelvis.

I can massage, manipulate, mobilise, release, stretch and prescribe an individual recovery programs for office workers, runners, parents, athletes and everyone in between.

  • This minimally invasive procedure involves the insertion of fine, sterile needles into specific trigger points, tight muscle bands, fascia and connective tissues to release tension, reducing pain and improving overall muscle function.

  • Tension and stiffness in the neck, shoulders and upper back often cause or contribute to headaches. I use a combination of techniques to address this, including massage mobilisation, training and muscle strengthening exercises.

Relaxation practices such as breath exercise and ergonomic assessment can also be utilised, targeted at reducing headache frequency and severity.

  • A thorough assessment is undertaken to identify any underlying musculoskeletal imbalances, postural issues or joint dysfunctions that may be contributing to the pain.

I use a combination of manual therapy techniques to release tension and improve joint mobility while therapeutic exercises may be prescribed to strengthen weak muscles, improve flexibility and promote better alignment to reduce strain on the back and neck.

  • My primary goal is to optimise the healing process and facilitate a smooth return to functional activities.

I employ a tailored and evidence-based approach that can include pain management strategies, joint mobility, muscle strength and flexibility exercises.

Progress is closely monitored and education on body mechanics is provided to help you regain independence and achieve optimal post-surgery outcomes.

  • Get birth ready with a one-on-one practical and educational sessions, personalised for you and your partner, tailored to meet your needs.

    Topics include…

    - Building a labour pain management tool kit

    - Birth positions

    - Massage for labour

A portrait of Rose Green

Hi…
I’m Rose Green

I have been working as a physiotherapist for decades now, long enough to know that there are many forms of effective and evidence-based physiotherapy treatments that can improve function and quality of life for those suffering with pain and dysfunction.

My current work as acting Head of Unit, Women’s Health Physiotherapy at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital has led me to a special interest in pelvic floor dysfunction and persistent pelvic pain which encompasses a wide range of oftentimes complex conditions. My previous work in musculoskeletal private practice,  acute physiotherapy in public and private hospitals, inpatient and outpatient  rehabilitation and childbirth education gives me perspective and a range of clinical skills allowing me to treat my patients with expertise and understanding.

As a mother of three, I have first-hand experience when it comes to the changes a woman’s body undergoes throughout pregnancy, birth and postnatally and the challenges involved in raising a family and managing the motherload. I have an appreciation of how the body responds to the work of living and enjoy assisting my patients through each of life’s stages from the challenges of adolescence to the physical demands of middle and older age.

As a woman with both clinical and life experience, I have a heightened understanding of the empathy and care people need when managing any kind of challenging condition.

I approach all consultations with sensitivity, positive energy, enthusiasm and professionalism and look forward to meeting with you to plan for your optimal function and comfort.
